    World of Tanks

Post  ComradeHavok on Thu Dec 23, 2010 12:02 pm

so, I've been playing this game for awhile, and was wondering if there's anyone on this forum who also plays.

For those who haven't heard of it. World of Tanks is an MMO based around WWII era tanks. At the moment there's German, Russian and American techtrees, with a smattering of French and British tanks listed as "Premium Tanks". It's currently in the beta phase, so if you want to join, you'll need to send an application before receiving a registration code. However, they're basically accepting all comers at this point, and you shouldn't have to wait more than a day for verification.

    I'm currently running a T-34 and a KV-3

I play it too, awesome tank fighting fun.

They recently added 'company' battles, allowing anywhere from 6 to 15 people to fight against others, though it depends on the 'tier' of the tank.

I'm working towards a Panther, Tiger, and have the best scout tank in the game at the moment.

Artillery is pretty boring. I ended up selling my artillery piece after awhile and stuck with my heavy tank.

I play WoT too. I'm currently in an M4E2A8 Sherman medium tank (Tier 6). And I also have an M7 Priest SPG. Yes I'm playing American tanks. Don't make TOO much fun of me! But yeah, I'm going to the medium tank line. I kinda like the nice balance of power and speed. Med tanks really should be the bread n butter of these tank battles, not the one-shot kill heavies.

Nothing wrong with using US tanks, although I haven't gotten to tier 6 yet. Don't remember what I have since it's been a while, but I think I have one in each category in tier 5. Wouldn't mind them finally getting the US tank-destroyers ready though :/
You're right about the high number of heavies being played, but this is a game and not a simulation. Besides There's always that one class/character that's good and being played much.
